Follow Jesus

Admit – Believe – Commit

What Does it Mean to Follow Jesus?

ADMIT your need for God.
BELIEVE that Jesus is the starting point to a new life.
COMMIT to living your whole life for Jesus.

Do you know people who are really into a particular hobby and their passion seems to take over every part of life? They’ve totally gone all-in on their passion.

This is what it means to follow Jesus. You have to go all-in. You have to give your life to Jesus and make him the leader.

What’s in it for you? Peace, purpose, hope, and love. The rewards are truly worth it.

Once you’ve made that choice to follow Jesus, there are 3 essentials to start right away: Prayer, Bible Reading, and Church.

Prayer is having a conversation with God. You speak to him and he speaks to you.

At the beginning, it may feel like you’re doing all the talking and that’s OK. As you continue to pray, you will begin to feel nudges from God.

What’s important is that you begin to have sustained times of speaking with God every day.

Bible Reading

The Bible is an anthology of books written over centuries that reveal the nature and person of God.

Spending time reading the Bible will deepen your knowledge of God and show you what it means to live for him.

If you’re not sure where to start, begin with the first four books of the New Testament called Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. These books are known as the Gospels and detail the life of Jesus as he lived among us.

You can get the Bible app on your favourite device and read it for free. Just search for Bible.

Jesus continues his work, to bring hope and life to the world, through the local church.

To follow Jesus means to be a part of his church. It’s critical that you find a local church to commit to and be a part of the work that Jesus is doing.

And of course, we think the best church for you is right here at Crosslands Church.
